Meet Recap

The mixed doubles team of Trenton Burchett (Jr.) and Parris Parmer (Fr.) won the district championship on Tuesday defeating Looka/Hohensee of Miles 6-1, 6-4. Burchett/Parmer looked part of the tournament’s top seed, dispatching Crocker/Hedden, also of Miles, 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals. Burchett/Parmer advanced to the Regional Tournament in Odessa, making it four straight years that Christoval has qualified for the regional tournament.

In girls doubles, Lana Mitchell (Jr.) and Cami White (Sr.) finished in 3rd place. They defeated Medina/Hernandez to advance to the semifinals, before losing to 2015 state qualifiers Hudson/Gomez of Miles. Mitchell/White bounced back to defeat Freeman/Long of Forsan 6-3, 6-4 and earn a playback and the right to join Burchett/Parmer at the regional tournament. They fought hard, but fell short against Hoffman/Riddle of Miles.
